Test your pool water after the rain (before it goes green)

24 March 2021

Over the past three weeks the Seaway measured almost 400mm of rainfall, and at time of writing (24 Mar) the Hinze Dam is at 117% capacity (which means it is overflowing).

That's a lot or rain and some of it has gone into your pool. The effect of the rain on your pool is that the pool water will be diluted to a large extent.  Your chlorine level is likely to be low, and the level of salt or minerals in the pool will be too low to bring the chlorine level back up.  The weather is going to warm up again (29 degrees today) and it won't be long before algae starts growing and the pool turns green.

Over similar periods of rain, we've provided 20+ tonnes of salt to our shop customers and we find that on average most pools will need anywhere from 2 to 6 bags of salt to bring the level back up!

DON'T DELAY - BRING A SAMPLE OF YOUR POOL WATER INTO ACTIVE POOL SUPPLIES BUNDALL OR RUNAWAY BAY NOW!

For our VIP Regular Customers:  If we are not due to service your pool for 2 or more weeks, and the water starts to look cloudy, or a tinge of green starts to appear on the walls, give us a call and we'll do our best to help you.
