The Most Searched-For Term In Property: Swimming Pools

02 December 2021

 by Angus Donald

When Domain Real Estate notices a trend, you can be certain that they're on to something. On November 16th, Domain published an article on their website that spoke of the current trends in house-hunting, and in no shock to our team here at Active Pool Supplies, they found that the absolute most-wanted feature during the hunt for a new home is the inclusion of a swimming pool. Big, small, of any shape and size; it didn't matter, so long as it could hold water and the prospective buyers would be able to swim, lounge, and generally enjoy themselves in the pool.

The everyday lifestyle of the average citizen has changed dramatically during the global pandemic, but during October of 2021, Domain saw that the overwhelming majority of people wanted to retain at least one familiar aspect of life, prioritising homes with a swimming pool over others during their house hunting. These results were consistent across every capital city in the country, be it the dry heat of the southeast corner of Brisbane, the colder weather of Melbourne, or the humid fog of Darwin.

Of course, we didn't need Domain to tell us about it. Domain spoke briefly to a chief executive of the Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Australia, Mr Linsday McGrath, who explained that there had been an increase of as much as 50% in demand for pool installations across the country, with projects being pushed back as far as twelve months to make sure everyone was able to get their new pools. Here at Active Pool Supplies, we've noticed it in the number of new customers walking through our doors: the number of pools in the Gold Coast is definitely inflating, and it's moving quite rapidly. If you're one of those pool owners in the Gold Coast, you can rely on Active Pool Supplies to help meet your every pool need, whether it's old or new. To get in touch with us, come into either our Bundall or Runaway Bay stores, or call us on (07) 5537 3341.
