APS General Manager's Pool Gets Swamped

As Pool professionals, we couldn't help but laugh when we saw the state of our General Manager, Brett's, pool after the rain on the weekend.   It seemed like half the nearby garden was now in the pool.   Funny to us, but not to Brett.  

The photo of the "swamp" was taken on Monday.

Brett's pool is fibreglass, so there's no option to empty the water and re-fill it, as we would run the risk of the pool popping out of the ground, or the walls collapsing under the weight of the surrounding sodden soil.

So, on Tuesday, Brett treated the water by adjusting the water balance and then adding "Floc" to cause the suspended muck to drop to the bottom of the pool over the following 24 hours.

A day later, on Wednesday, he vacuumed the mud from the bottom of the pool directly to the waste line so that it bypassed the filter.
We think you'll agree, the change in the pool water over 3 days is quite impressive.

Brett has now added a Clarifier to the water and will let the filtration system do its job to bring the water back to crystal clear.  We'll show you a photo in our next Newsletter.
