Acid Wash pool cleaning Gold Coast

Is there a silver lining to the closure of your commercial pool?

The temporary closure of commercial pools presents a great opportunity to perform those maintenance tasks that have been put off, or cannot be done whilst the pool is operational. For example, If you have stains or calcium deposits on the surface, now would be the ideal time to drain and acid wash the interior. We can also attend to tile repairs, new light fittings, equipment upgrades or any other matter that is easier done while the pool is closed. Just give us a call to discuss. Come through to the website to see a time lapse video showing how clean your pool can become with an acid wash.

Is Active Pool Supplies still open for business?

At this stage we are open and fully operational. We have updated our systems and processes to ensure we comply with social distancing and hygiene requirements. Our new processes include sanitising contact points on your equipment, we use our own cleaning equipment when on site, and we minimise face to face contact when we visit. In the event that the government instigates harsher lock down restrictions, we are advised the Pool and Spa Industry will be considered an 'Essential Service'. Rest assured that we have comprehensive records and photos of your pools on file, which will enable us to provide remote support effectively if required.

Can I simply drain the my commercial pool and leave it empty until the restrictions are lifted?

There are different circumstances for every pool, however, in most cases draining the pool will be detrimental. The main issues with draining the pool are: - The surface (i.e. Pebblecrete) will dry and shrink, causing it to delaminate from the concrete (see photo above). - There is a risk the pool shell can move due to the pressure of ground water under the pool. The water in the pool will normally negate this pressure, but draining the pool effectively turns it into a big boat, which will float out of the ground with enough pressure. - Rain and ground water will pool in the bottom of the shell when empty. Without filtration, this water will harbour mosquitos, algae and unwanted bacteria. Ground water is also high in mineral content that will stain the surface of the pool Please give us a call to discuss your individual circumstances.

Do I still need to maintain my commercial pool and spa?

Yes. If anything, it is more important now than it has ever been to make sure the pool and spa are sanitized and meet the required health guidelines. The chemicals and work required to achieve this may be reduced due to the reduction in bather load. Environmental factors such as weather will still cause contaminants to enter the pool. Adequate filtration and sanitation must be maintained.
